The following statements set up the terms of use ruling the digital booking service of divehop.com. These terms of use apply to our services, available on or off-line, via email or telephone.
We recommend that you read these terms of use before using our services. By accessing and using our services, you legally accept to abide to these terms of use and to their probable modifications that can follow. We reserve the right to modify these terms of use at any time, and these said modifications will take effect once published on divehop.com.
The following terms (full detail below, per section) will be understood as followed:
• ‘Our Services’: refers to all the diving services (e.g. fun dive, courses, snorkeling, etc.) that users can book through www.divehop.com.
• ‘Users’: refers to any dive enthusiasts or divers booking a service on divehop.com.
• ‘Dive center’: refers to all the dive centers published on divehop.com.
Divehop.com is a website edited by Odysseas Primos of Antonios, Sole proprietor. The Registered Office of divehop.com is Chalkeon 21, 54631 Thessaloniki, Greece.
1.1 – Services offered on the website
Divehop.com provides an online booking service so that users can book a diving service or activity offered from a dive center published on divehop.com. It also offers relevant information on dive destinations and dive centers in Greece.
1.2 – Listed dive centers
Divehop.com offers free registration to any dive center in Greece that wishes to be published and use our digital services. The dive centers published on divehop.com undergo a verification process to ensure their legal establishment. However, divehop.com is not responsible for the validity of information provided by the dive centers, nor their quality of service. Dive centers with recurring low reviews from users will be subject to dismissal from the divehop.com registry.
1.3 – Intermediary
Divehop.com is an intermediary between users and dive centers. When using our services, the contract links the user(s) and the dive center(s). When a user books a service, divehop.com acts as a go-between for the said user and the said dive center, sending said user the booking details and confirmation from the dive center. By booking with divehop.com, you enter into a contractual agreement with the dive center you booked in.
1.4 – Information published on the website
The information published on divehop.com is given and updated regularly by the dive centers themselves, with the exception of some editorial content. Dive centers have the responsibility to ensure, at all times, that the information regarding their company, staff, and services is correct and up-to-date. They must inform divehop.com if any information is incorrect or outdated. Dive centers have access to a personal dashboard to easily update their information. While divehop.com strives to provide accurate information, we cannot guarantee that all the information provided is accurate, complete, and exact. Divehop.com cannot be held responsible for any mistakes, inaccurate, misleading, or false information, or any lack of information.
Every dive center hereby is and remains responsible at any time for the accuracy and completeness of the descriptive information published on divehop.com, including its availability and fees.
Offer conditions and the booking service
2.1 – Booking conditions
The booking service is available every day and at any time. Users can search for a destination and/or any diving services offered by divehop.com.
According to the criteria of the users search, you will be directed to:
• A selection of dive centers meeting the criteria
• The information and services of the dive center
• The current fees for the service(s) booked
If one of the offers matches the search, the user fills in the online booking form, not forgetting the mandatory fields and sections:
• Create a User account in the section ‘My Account’ with your personal details
• Desired service(s)
• The agreement on the terms of the sales
The dive centers’ availabilities are filled in and updated by the dive centers themselves.
Bookings on divehop.com must be finalized at least 36 hours before the actual start of the service to be effective.
2.2 – Booking process
In order to book a diving service on Divehop.com, users are required to meet certain requirements based on the type of activity booked:
Please note that Divehop.com is not responsible for verifying clients’ compliance with the health requirements or certifications. We provide information about these requirements throughout the booking process to inform clients, but it is the clients’ responsibility to meet and adhere to these requirements.
2.3 – Payment Process
In order to book a diving service on divehop.com users are asked to pay a deposit of 15% of the total cost of the service booked. Once the booking is effective the user receives a confirmation email to notify the user that the booking has been registered and the dive center has been contacted with the user’s booking. The dive center is required to confirm within 24 hours of the booking. If the dive center accepts the said booking, the user receives a final confirmation email honoring their request. This said final email is written proof that the booking had been validated and is effective. This confirmation includes all the information and specificities of the booking and the dive center (i.e. dates, times, service and limits). Please read it carefully. The rest of the amount due (85%) is paid on site at the dive center directly, after the service booked is completed.
If the dive center declines the booking, the user will also receive an email, indicating why the booking was refused. Whenever possible, the dive center will give the user some options or alternatives for their last booking.
If no alternatives are agreed by the user and the dive center then a full refund of the deposit (15%) will be issued to the user by divehop.com.
In the case that a dive center has accepted a booking, divehop.com sends all the user’s details so they can communicate together on planning the dive, i.e. the dive center becomes the user’s main point of contact and vice versa. The user can still contact divehop.com if they have any questions, via the section ‘Contact us’ on divehop.com, located on the homepage.
2.4 – Payment Gateway
Divehop.com accepts payment from debit or credit cards by Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, American Express, Diners.
All payments made using the card are processed through the electronic payment platform of “Nexi e-Commerce” of Nexi Payments Greece S.A. and uses TLS 1.2 encryption protocol encryption with 128-bit (Secure Sockets Layer – SSL). Encryption is a way of coding the information until it reaches its recipient, who will be able to decode it using the appropriate key. Please note that Divehop.com does not store any card details as part of our payment process. By choosing to make a payment on our platform, you acknowledge and agree to the terms and conditions set forth by Nexi Payments Greece S.A.
3.1 Payment Authorization: By making a booking or providing payment details, you authorize Divehop.com to initiate the necessary transactions and charges related to your booking, including any applicable taxes, fees, or additional services requested. You agree to be responsible for the full payment amount associated with your booking.
3.2 Currency and Pricing: All prices and transactions on Divehop.com are stated in the designated currency (Euro). It is your responsibility to review and confirm the accuracy of the pricing information before making a payment. Currency exchange rates may apply if your payment method uses a different currency, and any associated fees or charges will be borne by you.
3.3 Payment Security: All payments made using the card are processed through the electronic payment platform of “Nexi e-Commerce” of Nexi Payments Greece S.A. and uses TLS 1.2 encryption protocol encryption with 128-bit (Secure Sockets Layer – SSL).
3.4 Third-Party Payment Processors: Divehop.com may utilize third-party payment processors to facilitate secure payment transactions. While every effort is made to ensure the reliability and security of these payment processors, Divehop.com is not liable for any issues or damages arising from the use of these third-party services. You are encouraged to review the terms and privacy policies of the payment processors for further information.
3.5 Refunds and Failed Payments: In the event of a refund request, Divehop.com will process the refund according to our refund policy, which can be found in our Refund Policy document. Refunds will be issued to the original payment method used during the booking process. Please note that the timing of refunds may vary depending on the payment provider and banking institution involved.
In case of a failed payment due to technical issues, insufficient funds, or any other reason, Divehop.com reserves the right to cancel or suspend the booking until the payment is successfully completed. It is the user’s responsibility to ensure that the payment details provided are accurate and valid. Any fees or charges incurred due to failed payments or insufficient funds will be the responsibility of the user.
3.6 Coupons and Discount Codes: Divehop.com may offer the use of coupons or discount codes for eligible bookings. These coupons or codes are subject to specific terms and conditions, including validity dates, booking restrictions, and usage limits. Coupons or discount codes cannot be combined, transferred, or redeemed for cash. Divehop.com reserves the right to modify or cancel coupons or discount codes at any time without prior notice. Any unauthorized use or reproduction of coupons or discount codes may result in the cancellation of the booking. Please review the terms associated with each coupon or discount code before applying it to your booking.
4.1 – Prices published on divehop.com
Prices for services published on divehop.com are the current prices for the dive centers, i.e. they are set by the dive centers themselves. Prices are in Euros. Divehop.com is working hard to offer their users the best prices possible for diving services: prices published on the website are usually inferior to the ones on public display in the dive center and/or the dive center’s own website. These prices might vary in time and with the seasons: the user has to accept this eventuality for a discrepancy.
4.2. – Services payment
Booking on divehop.com is totally free. The user does not pay any extra fee when booking on divehop.com. The deposit (15%) required for booking is subtracted by the total price of the service booked and not added to it. The remaining amount (85%) will be paid directly to the dive center, according to the terms of use and sales once agreed upon.
The payment methods accepted by the dive centers may vary and depend on the options provided by each dive center. The specific payment arrangements and methods will be agreed upon between the user and the dive center.
The same terms of sales will also apply to the bookings of promotional offers and discounts.
5.1 – Review and Acceptance of Terms
By accessing and using Divehop.com’s services, users acknowledge that they have read, understood, and accepted the Terms of Use & Sales. Users are responsible for reviewing the terms periodically for any updates or changes.
5.2 – Account Information Accuracy
Users are responsible for providing accurate and up-to-date information when creating and managing their Divehop.com account. It is the user’s responsibility to promptly update their account information if any changes occur.
5.3 – User Account Security
Users are responsible for maintaining the security and confidentiality of their Divehop.com account credentials. Any activities or transactions carried out using the user’s account will be considered the user’s responsibility.
5.4 – Communication of Changes and Modifications
Both users and dive center owners are responsible for promptly informing Divehop.com of any changes or modifications related to bookings or transactions made outside of the Divehop.com system. Failure to communicate such changes may result in adverse consequences and Divehop.com cannot be held liable for any resulting issues. Cancellations by the user can be made through their bookings account by clicking the “cancel” button in the related booking card. Any changes made by the user, including but not limited to cancellations, can be communicated to Divehop.com by our contact form, or by email at hello@divehop.com.
5.5 – Obligations towards the dive center
The user is committed to present themselves to the dive center where the booking was made, at the time and on the date agreed upon beforehand between the two parties. The user is committed to bringing the documents aforementioned by the dive center in the terms of sales (e.g. medical certificate, dive certification, etc.). Divehop.com is not responsible for any forgotten documents from the user or for any incident that may impede the user to use the service(s) booked. In any case, the terms of sales are the legal reference.
5.6 – Cancellations by the user
Users have the ability to manage their bookings through their personalized dashboard. In the dashboard, users can view their bookings, information, profile, reviews, and bookmarks. If a user wishes to cancel a booking, they can do so by accessing their bookings account and clicking the “cancel” button in the related booking card.
Please note that cancellation policies, including any applicable fees or penalties, are outlined in Article 6 – Booking Cancellation & Refunds.
6.1 – Booking cancellation conditions
Free Cancellation:
Cancellation of a booking is free up until 48 hours before the start of the activity booked and the paid deposit of 15% will be returned to the user in full. The ‘free cancellation timeframe’ refers to the period of 48 hours prior to the scheduled start time of the activity.
Last Minute Cancellation or No-Show:
In case of cancellation of a reservation within the last 48 hours before the activity starts, or fail to show up for the dive, divehop.com reserves the right to charge the full amount of the activity to the credit or debit card provided during the booking process. This charge will be processed to compensate the dive center for the lost opportunity to fill your spot, as they allocate their time and resources based on your confirmed booking.
By providing your card details, you authorize us to initiate a payment request to the Nexi e-commerce service payment system provided by Alpha Bank, in the event of a cancellation outside the “free cancellation timeframe” mentioned or a no-show. We do not store any card details as part of our payment process. Rest assured that your card details are securely processed through the Nexi e-commerce service, which adheres to industry-standard security measures to ensure the privacy and protection of your information.
Please note that Divehop.com relies on accurate and timely communication between all parties involved. In the case of any cancellations or changes made outside the divehop.com system, it is the joint responsibility of both the user and the Dive Center owner to inform Divehop.com in advance regarding these transactions or changes. Divehop.com cannot be held responsible for any consequences arising from such external modifications unless it has been duly informed by both parties involved.
When booking on divehop.com, the user declares he/she/they has read and accepted all cancellation and no-show conditions, along with all the extra conditions the dive center requires for the booking. The user is reminded of these said conditions throughout the booking process and in the booking request email. Some special services, offers and/or discounts do not apply to the current conditions: we recommend that the user always checks the conditions before finalizing a booking.
6.2 – Refund Conditions
Divehop.com will issue a refund of any prepaid amount in the following cases:
a) When a reservation is canceled by the user within the free cancellation time frame aforementioned.
b) When the Dive center cancels a reservation and there is no rescheduling approved by both parties.
c) When the weather or other external, environmental, political or other conditions independent of the user lead to forced cancellations, without rescheduling.
Refunds of any prepaid amount are NOT issued by divehop.com after an activity has been completed.
Medical Waiver
In the event of an unforeseen medical reason that prevents you from participating in the dive, you may be eligible for a waiver of the full charge. To qualify for this waiver, you must provide a verified doctor’s note that meets the following criteria:
1. The doctor’s note must be issued on official letterhead or stationery, clearly displaying the healthcare provider’s name, contact information, and credentials.
2. The note must include a detailed explanation of the medical condition or illness that rendered you unable to participate in the dive.
3. The note should specify the date(s) of examination and diagnosis, indicating that the medical condition arose within the last 48 hours prior to the scheduled start time of the dive.
4. The healthcare provider’s signature, along with the date of issuance, must be present on the note.
5. The note must be submitted within 5 days of the cancellation or no-show.
Please note that while the full charge may be waived in the case of a verified medical reason, the 15% deposit made at the time of reservation will not be refunded. This deposit covers the administrative costs and commitments we make to our dive centers on your behalf.
We understand that medical emergencies can arise unexpectedly, and we strive to handle such situations with compassion and understanding. All medical information provided will be treated with the utmost confidentiality and used solely for the purpose of assessing eligibility for a waiver.
It’s important to note that this provision is subject to review and verification by our team. We reserve the right to request additional information or clarification from your healthcare provider if necessary.
